主讲人简介

Ian Freestone trained as a geochemist before joining the research laboratories of the British Museum, becoming Deputy Keeper of the Department of Conservation, Documentation and Science.  In 2004 he moved to Cardiff University as Professorial Research Fellow in Archaeological Science where he also served as Head of the Department of Archaeology. He joined the UCL Institute of Archaeology as Professor of Archaeological Materials and Technologies in 2011.  His interests are in the composition, production and deterioration of artefacts and he has worked widely on ceramics, glass and metallurgy from all periods up to the nineteenth century.  He is author of over 180 papers and has co-edited 9 conference proceedings. He is a recipient of the Archaeological Institute of America’s Pomerance Medal forscientific contributions to archaeology. He is a member of the editorial boards of Journal of Archaeological Science,Archaeometry, Journal of Cultural Heritage and Journal of Glass Studies.
